ISO 9000 series is a set of international standards issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It was originally published in 1987 and lately revised in 2015.

ISO 9000 introduce an internationally-accepted quality management system model, and is applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size, product and service provided, including public administration service.

ISO 9000 series gather quality management experience from many countries all around the world.

ISO 9001 is an international standard belong to ISO 9000 series. ISO 9001 is not product/service standard but requirements for a quality management system and complementary to requirements for product/service. ISO 9000 series is an advanced management tool. Adoption of ISO 9000 should be a strategic decision of an organization. It helps organisation to establish and maintain an effective quality management system meeting requirements of their actual activities. It is also an important evaluation criteria through that buyers can verify suppliers of production/service provision and quality stability before signing business contracts.
